For a lot of people, September marks the start of a new school term and it’s back to routine with school runs, evening activities and repetitive dinners. But that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! Here’s the four things to do in Letterkenny this September with all the family:
CULTURE NIGHT 2018
For the 10th year, Letterkenny will take part in Culture Night, providing a terrific opportunity for families to sample aspects of Irish culture and heritage. The programme for 2018 offers 39 diverse events in 26 venues that celebrate unique local cultural identity. All events are free of charge. The event takes place on September 21st and a full list of events can be seen HERE.
Routine weekly dinners can get monotonous, so treat your taste buds to a special dining experience in one of the many restaurants in Letterkenny. The new menu in Sister Sara’s will leave your mouth watering, while Warehouse Bar + Kitchen at McGettigan’s Hotel is ideal for a girls or boys’ night out. If you’re looking for something more intimate, check out the AA Rosette, Award-Winning Poet’s Corner dining room at the Radisson Blu Hotel Letterkenny.
INDOOR & OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
September weather can be unpredictable so plan activities for every eventuality. For a rainy Wild Atlantic Day, check out Arena 7 and Century Letterkenny which offers bowling, play centres, an 8-screen cinema and much more. If you’re a fan of the outdoors, make your way to Letterkenny Activity Centre, Tropical World at Alcorn’s or Extreme Adventure Letterkenny. Following that, take a short trip to a blue flag beach and enjoy a family walk. And, if you’re in Fanad, be sure to check out Fanad Lighthouse.
THEATRE & ENTERTAINMENT
Located in the heart of the busy town, An Grianán Theatre in Letterkenny has a jam packed Autumn programme with family, comedy and music events. To see a full list of what’s on click HERE. If you’re more of a dance and live music person, check out Voodoo Venue, Pulse Venue or Orchard Inn.
