If you’re travelling to Donegal this weekend for the annual Joule Donegal Internationally Rally, check out some of the great bars and clubs in Letterkenny. From super pubs to cosy bars and night clubs, this central town has something for everyone. Here’s the top ten bars and clubs to hit this weekend:

Sister Sara’s

Sister Sara’s is the prefect way to start your Donegal International Rally weekend. The venue was revamped earlier this year and it’s the perfect ‘pit-stop’ for live music, craft beers, cocktails and dancing! Award winning DJ Marty Curran will be playing the essential tunes this Saturday.

Pulse Venue

If you’re looking for a place with more bars than you can count on one hand, and multiple dance floors to cater for different music tastes, then look no further than The Pulse Venue. Situated in the heart of Letterkenny there’s music all weekend, starting from Thursday:

  • Thursday: Pre-Pulse Dj Tubbsy (Doors 11pm – Late)
  • Friday: Rhythm & Sticks, The Whistlin’ Donkeys, Dj Dara K and DJ’s (Doors from 9.30pm)
  • Saturday: The Whistlin’ Donkeys, DJ Twincam, DJ Tubbsy (Doors from 9pm)

Dry Arch Inn

The Dry Arch Inn is located at the outskirts of Letterkenny, but right in the heart of all the rally action! There’s live music all weekend from Shindig, Dee Sweeney and Eugene Louge.

Warehouse Bar + Kitchen

The upbeat and trendy Warehouse Bar + Kitchen is the perfect mix of intimate cocktail den and comfortable neighbourhood bar. With live DJ’s and bands, you won’t want to leave. There’s a host of entertainment for the Donegal International Rally weekend, kicking off on Friday!

Tír na nÓG

If you’re looking for something more ‘local’ to sample on your trip to the northern country, we highly recommend a trip to ‘Tír na nÓg’ Traditional Irish Bar. The cosy venue has some great entertainment planned for the weekend including Paul Brennan (Friday 21st), Shane McGinley (Saturday 22nd) and Eugene Logue (Sunday 23rd).

The Orchard Inn

Rally Fever has kicked-in at The Orchard Inn! As well as a late bar, the venue also serves up tasty dishes, so it’s your one stop shop for food, live music, atmosphere and drink! On Sunday night, The Hillybilly Rednecks will be live in the lounge from 7pm followed by DJ Paddy Friel.

Glencar Inn

The Glencar Inn is the perfect bar to catch up with locals. The lounge is always lively with the best in live sports and great nightly entertainment, while the bar is perfect for a quiet pint and a bit of banter. There’s also a pool table and darts board.

Arena 7

The bar and restaurant at Arena 7 is perfect for stopping and refueling. Located on the main Letterkenny to Ramelton road you’re close to all the action.

Voodoo Venue

The Voodoo Venue Letterkenny has a jam-packed programme of events for the Donegal International Rally weekend, starting this Thursday.

  • Rally Thursday: Rally opening Party in the lounge with DJ Scoop (9PM – 2AM)
  • Rally Friday: DJ Paddy Friel on the decks in the lounge followed by Domino Effect live on stage + Justiy in Club
  • Rally Saturday: DJ PK live on the decks in the club, followed by Rock stars on stage + DJ Justiy in Club
  • Rally Sunday: One for the Road + Starman. Live music from 6pm

Tessie’s Bar

If you like something a little more low key, check out Tessie’s Bar at the Voodoo Venue. The traditional bar is the main entrance bar on the edge of the Voodoo lounge and serves up an excellent pint of Guinness and extended range of beers.
